My Heart on a String

Well this is a bit different from my usual happy-joy-joy pictures.

Meet Bliss, the ironically-named harpy-like character that's been stewing in my mind for ages. Inspired by the sad songs of Blue October, she formed as a creature who tries her hardest to hide her vulnerabilities from the world, but always ends up with her heart exposed.

I drew her for my Painting class, and no, I'm not exactly sure why she's upside down.

I lift your feathered left arm where you hide your heart from me.
I never noticed it was swollen with a touch of brutal pain.
I never knew a heart could live inside the rust from all your rain, all your rain...
